Adnan Asad

Adnan Asad is the CEO of the Venus group of companies. Educated from Aitchison College he has a Bachelors and Masters from Florida USA . He is also the President of the Sind Squash Association.

Venus Group operates in 6 countries namely USA, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and UAE.

The Group is involved in several fully integrated activities from Consolidation and Freight Forwarding in USA, clearing and Forwarding in Pakistan, Bonded Warehouse, Intercity Logistics Warehouses in 7 major Cities, and Direct Distribution to end users in the Food Service Sector.

Venus Group is also the exclusive logistic partners of McDonald’s Pakistan and manufactures desserts, creams, produces both dairy and nondairy ice cream, tissue products, packaged ice cubes, paper cups, jams and chocolate coating.

The Group has franchisees for Cold Stone and Texas Chicken.

The Group is also constructing a resort/convention center on Shimla Hill Abbottabad.

Future plans include having a gold Private jet service center in Karachi. The company has a licensee for Eclipse Jets in the region.

They also have their own container terminal in west wharf and have plans to convert the terminal into a container freight station.


Syed Anis Ahmed

Syed Anis Ahmed is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Abbott Laboratories (Pakistan) Limited. He assumed his current role as CEO in March 2016. He joined Abbott Laboratories (Pakistan) Limited in 2008 as Director Finance. He has more than 20 years’ experience of working as Strategic business partner in areas of Commercial Finance, Corporate restructuring & M&A, Controllership, Corporate Governance, Taxation, IT and Compliance. Prior to joining Abbott, he was associated with A. F. Ferguson & Co. and Philips Pakistan. He also held senior positions at Philips Electrical Industries, including Director Finance and Company Secretary. He is a Fellow member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.

Khurram Mohammad Qamar

Khurram joined PMPKL in 2009 and since then has assumed roles of increasing responsibilities in the areas of Finance, Business Process Integration, Compliance and Corporate Affairs. After completing senior executive roles in Philip Morris Hong Kong and Malaysia, he returned to Pakistan as Director Corporate Affairs.

He is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales (ICAEW) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP). Khurram is also a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant and a life-time member of the Sindh High Court Bar Association.

Based on his diverse experience, leadership, creativity and proven strategic management skills, Khurram seeks to promote business interests of US-based companies to support Pakistan’s socio-economic development.

Mr. Irshad Kassim is Chairman of Karam Ceramics Limited, Karam Green Energy Limited, PICIC Insurance Company, and Director Industrial Promotion Services Pakistan. He also serves as the Member Executive Committee & Chairman Industry & Trade Sub-Committee of American Business Council, Membership Officer YPO/WPO Pakistan Chapter of Young Presidents Organization, Member of Board of Governors – The Aga Khan University and Hospital, Board of Governors Kidney Centre, Board of Governors of Lady Dufferin Hospital and the Honorary Consul of Tajikistan, in Karachi.

Mr. Irshad Kassim interest in sports and the less privileged has led him to be the founder member of the Special Olympics Pakistan. He also served as Past Chairman Focus Humanitarian Services Assistance.

Mr. Kassim is the first Pakistani to achieve Best of the Best Chapter Chair Award in Dubai this year 2016 from YPO-WPO.

He is a MBA from the University of Southern California, USA in Business Administration, and Bachelors in Science from California State Polytechnic University, USA, with High School from Santa Monica High School, USA.

Mr. Peer spent 13 years at Systems Limited’s US office as Chief Operating Officer, and has provided valuable contributions in the development of solutions and products that acted as a catalyst to the company’s phenomenal growth within the US market.

In 2018, Mr. Peer was appointed as a member of Pakistan’s Council of Business leaders, tasked with providing recommendations for improving Pakistan’s global economic standing.

S. M. Wajeehuddin is the CEO and Country Manager of Pfizer Pakistan Limited and Wyeth Pakistan Limited.

He is a Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and has almost 30 years of experience in the Pharma Industry. He has exposure of working in diverse functions at Pfizer in Pakistan and overseas, including Finance, Sales and Marketing and now General Management. He is also the Co Chair of Pharma Bureau.

Mr. Adeel Shahid

Vice President – Head of Marketing and Public Affairs

Adeel holds a BSc in Management from Royal Holloway University of London and a Masters in International Relations from the University of Warwick.

He is a tested communication innovator and leader who shapes organizations through employee conversations and engagement. Has repeatedly built highly engaged teams who quickly delivered targets on time and in budget. Love of technology, drive for continual improvement and knowing how to scale communication are key to his data-driven approach which has helped leaders move the needle with teams of a few hundred, or a few hundred thousand. Adeel has also had significant experience of working within the development sector designing programs that have created 1000+ jobs over 4 years within various rural and urban districts of the country.

He previously worked with CNBC Pakistan as a Business Anchor / Correspondent. While working at CNBC, Adeel interviewed more than 200 key figures from various local and international Blue Chip companies.

He also worked closely with the corporate communication department of various organizations, helping conceptualize, produce and present content related to the company’s strategic needs. He has also produced content and reported live on the financial markets of South Asia on various international CNBC franchises.

Throughout his career, he has led various projects spanning the disciplines of internal and external communications, event management, media relations and the development sector. He has also been affiliated with various educational institutions helping design policies and curricula. Adeel is also the author of a Report on Gender Mainstreaming in Pakistan which was subsequently published by the UNDP

Mr. Jamshed Safdar

As the Chief Executive Officer of ULS – a company representing UPS – focused on Special Projects in Pakistan, Jamshed is responsible for setting the overall strategic direction of the company, driving its business development through accelerated growth and focus by ensuring all key stakeholders achieve optimum returns.

He is a senior corporate executive with a major focus on financial services and maritime. His career spans over 39 years in blue chip multinationals at a senior level in a regional and global capacity with a solid track record of achievements.

In his prior roles he was the Regional Director, Marketing Services – Asia Pacific with American Express, in Hong Kong, their regional hub.

Moving towards maritime, in 2002 he took up the responsibility as the Global Head of Marketing for Norasia Container Line, part of a Chilean Shipping group, based out of Hong Kong. Appointed Senior Vice President and Head of Global Marketing for Emirates Shipping Line in 2006 he launched and successfully promoted and established the brand worldwide.

Jamshed was the Chairman of the Marketing Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce – the largest International Chamber in Hong Kong for 2 consecutive years, 2007 and 2008.

He has been invited as a key note speaker at various trade and marketing related conferences in Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Dubai. He has been covered in the trade media

Jamal Mir is a B.A. in Economics from University of California, Los Angeles, (UCLA) – 1983. High School Diploma from Karachi American School – 1978.

Jamal has Professional Affiliations with Member Advertising Association of Pakistan (AAP) – Vice Chairman (2009-) of International Advertising Association. (IAA). Served as Media Consultant for Pakistan Cricket Board – (PCB) 2000-2001. In Marketing Association of Pakistan. (MAP) he has served as Council Member.
